On the Knitting Front
Nine years ago I closed the doors to the yarn shop I had owned for over five years.
Soon I am going to be reopening those doors, in a way.
I have decided it is time for me to once again open and run a yarn store in the city of Pittsburgh. So, like a phoenix, Natural Stitches will be reborn.
I am waiting to actually sign the lease on a space that is perfect. Ok, maybe not quite perfect, but definitely close.
With over 2000 square feet it'll be a BIG place and I'll need to carry a lot of yarns.
I'm willing to entertain any suggestions local folks might have. Though I plan on not carrying much (if any) yarns that you can find at Michael's, JoAnn's, or Pat Catan's.
I can't give any more details, primarily because until I actually sign the lease, I don't HAVE any of the details. *sigh* So stay tuned for future updates!

Coolness!!!
Malabrigo. Definitely Malabrigo. Yum!!!
Wish we were closer to Pittsburgh.
Found your blog through a mention on Ravelry and though I am fairly new to the area, I am happy to hear you are reopening.
I personally would love to see Mission Falls, Malabrigo and a huge selection of sock yarns. I've only been to two of the nearby yarn shops so far, and though both were nice, neither seemed to have much sock yarn, other than the typical Regia and other striping yarns that I rather dislike.
I'd also love to see handspun/handpainted yarns by local artists if there any around.
Good luck with the opening of the shop!
omg--i just read cheryl's post on ravelry--i'm so excited!! you will have one loyal customer there every weekend :) and i'm sure anna will be along with me. and extra points for you if you can get that handmaiden camel-silk blend i nearly bought at my last trip to an lys...divine. i can't wait!! let me know if you need any help with anything--this is great news!
I'm really thrilled to hear this...do you need employees?
See?? I told you someone else would want Mission Falls! :-D
Hope you're having fun!
I just heard about this through Anna - very exciting. I'm happy to spread around my local yarn shopping dollars.
I agree with the other poster about more sock yarn. Trekking, Wildfoote and Lorna's Laces are three I've tried and loved...and I'd love to try more.
I'd also love to see a good array of alternative fibers (a la "No Sheep...") and good wool for fair isle work like Jamison shetland wool.
Thanks for asking!
WOW!!!!
